Bacon-wrapped Ground Beef “Steaks”

I clipped this from Family Circle earlier this year, but we made them for the first time today. We liked them a lot and plan to make them again!

Makes: 6 servings

2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup Worchestershire sauce
2 tablespoons diced onions
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 slices bacon

In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, diced onion, black pepper and salt. Form meat into 6 patties, each about 1 inch thick. Wrap a piece of bacon around the edge of each patty and secure with a toothpick.

Grill or broil - should be nicely browned and the “steak” should register 160 degrees on an instant-read thermometer.

This recipe can be made ahead. Place the patties in a covered container suitable for freezing and label. Freeze for up to 1 month. To cook, thaw in refrigerator 1 day. Then grill or broil them.
