Sesame roasted Asparagus

I love asparagus! Or at least, I love asparagus prepared this way! I’ve been known to eat the spears right off the pan like french fries! And did you know that asparagus is a natural diuretic?

Asparagus is one of the few good vegetable sources of vitamin E. It also contains glutathione an antioxidant which is believed to protect against cancer. Asparagus is also a natural diuretic - ideal for women around their menstrual cycle - and is a traditional treatment for rheumatism and arthritis.

Alrighty then! So here is my favorite asparagus recipe.

36 Asparagus Spears
1 1/2 tsps dark sesame oil
1 tsp low sodium soy sauce
1/8 tsp black pepper

1. Preheat oven to 450
2. Snap off tough ends of the asparagus spears. Combine asparagus and the remaining ingredients in a jelly-roll pan (cookie sheet with edges), turning asparagus to coat.
3. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes.
