I ripped this recipe right out of Martha Stewart Living. My son’s new thing is mushrooms so we have been eating a lot of them. He loved this:

Balsamic Mushrooms

1/4 c olive oil (used less)

12 oz. white mushrooms, halved (used portabello too)

3 T balsamic vinegar

1 t coarse salt

1/4 t red-pepper flakes

fresh ground pepper to taste

Heat oil in skillet on med. high heat. Add mushrooms and cook until golden–about 5 minutes. Stir in vinegar and seasonings. Cook 1 more minute.

They have an interesting “bite” to them and were very good served over grilled steak.
